Hot Dip Galvanizing Technician - 2nd

$19.00 per hour Personnel Placements, LLC is currently seeking a dependable and hardworking Hot Dip Galvanizing Technician to join our 2nd shift team in Memphis, TN. In this role, you'll be responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment used in the hot dip galvanizing process, applying protective zinc coatings to steel products. This position requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency, as well as the ability to work in high-heat, industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate galvanizing machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures. Prepare steel parts for processing, including cleaning, degreasing, and pickling as needed. Monitor the galvanizing process to ensure proper zinc coating thickness and adherence to quality standards. Conduct visual inspections for defects, ensuring product meets specifications, and take corrective action when necessary. Accurately document production data, material usage, and quality checks. Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment to reduce downtime and maintain efficiency. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE, and contribute to a safe work environment. Collaborate with teammates to meet daily production and quality goals. Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers regarding process updates, issues, or suggestions. Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment preferred. Comfortable working in high-heat and physically demanding conditions. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately. Reliable attendance and punctuality are a must. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Basic math skills and ability to read safety documents and standard operating procedures. Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and processes. Forklift certification preferred, or willingness to obtain (training provided). Must be available for overtime and occasional weekend shifts as needed. BR3
