Job Description

Paulsen Printing is seeking a skilled Stitcher Operator to join our bindery team in Memphis. This position is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of commercial stitching equipment to produce high-quality finished printed materials in an efficient and timely manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in a commercial print environment, strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate stitching equipment according to job specifications and production schedules Review job tickets to verify counts, trim sizes, page sequencing, and finishing requirements Monitor quality throughout production runs and make adjustments as needed Troubleshoot minor mechanical and production issues to minimize downtime Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on stitching equipment Work closely with bindery, pressroom, and shipping teams to maintain production flow Ensure jobs are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule Maintain quality standards and follow all safety procedures Assist with other bindery equipment and finishing operations as needed Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of experience operating stitchers in a commercial print environment Strong understanding of bindery and finishing processes Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production specifications Strong attention to detail and quality control Dependable with a strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to stand for extended periods and lift production materials as needed Preferred Qualifications Experience with saddle stitching, booklet making, and related bindery equipment Familiarity with cutters, folders, collators, or other finishing equipment Experience working in a high-volume commercial printing environment Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Benefits package available Opportunity to work with a respected Memphis printing company focused on quality and customer service
