Die Setter Job Description The Die Setter is responsible for safely and efficiently setting up, changing, and maintaining molds in a fast-paced Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment. This role ensures that production runs meet quality standards, cycle-time targets, and customer specifications. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with high-precision tooling and automated equipment. Responsibilities Set up and maintain injection molds to ensure efficient production. Change molds as needed to meet production requirements. Ensure production runs meet quality standards and cycle-time targets. Work with high-precision tooling and automated equipment. Maintain a safe and organized work environment. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude Experience with machine operating and setup Ability to read and interpret blueprints Proficiency in die setting and mold injection Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with injection mold dies Ability to operate a crane for die changes Entry-level maintenance experience or strong mechanical aptitude Willingness to undertake training and development Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment at this Tier 1 supplier is clean but fast-paced, supplying directly to a major automotive manufacturer. The role involves working with oil, grease, heights, and some heavy lifting. Employees work the first shift from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with typical hours extending to 4 or 5 PM, including two Saturdays a month. The environment is dynamic, offering direct insight into the automotive production process. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.60 - $19.60/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
