We are adding a second shift at our state-of-the-art Abilene facility to support the strong demand for our premium pet food products Job Summary The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining production equipment within the facility. This role involves starting, operating, tending, stopping, and cleaning machines while ensuring all production activities meet company standards for safety, quality, efficiency, and GMP compliance. Machine Operators are responsible for monitoring product quality, completing required documentation, and supporting overall production performance. This includes inspecting finished products, performing line checks, assisting with preventative maintenance, and communicating equipment or process issues to the appropriate personnel. This is a highly hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that requires strong attention to detail, mechanical awareness, and a commitment to producing high-quality products. What You'll Do Machine Operation & Production Start, operate, tend, stop, and clean production equipment Follow written and verbal instructions to ensure safe and efficient operations Splice packaging materials and make machine adjustments as needed Feed materials into machines for processing and packaging Load and unload machines, carts, dollies, and conveyors Package, sort, wrap, and repackage finished products Quality & Food Safety Perform routine line checks and quality inspections Ensure all products meet company standards and specifications Follow GMP, HACCP, SOPs, and all food safety requirements Maintain accurate production and quality documentation Identify and report quality or safety concerns immediately Equipment Monitoring & Maintenance Perform basic troubleshooting and resolve minor equipment issues Conduct routine operator-level preventive maintenance Monitor machines, conveyors, scales, and related equipment Communicate equipment malfunctions and production issues to supervisors Material Handling & Support Move raw materials, WIP, and finished goods safely throughout the facility Measure, mix, and pour ingredients as required Transfer materials between departments according to procedures Return unused materials to designated storage areas Assist with general production support tasks as needed Housekeeping & Safety Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation Clean equipment and production areas throughout the shift Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times Additional Responsibilities Support production team needs across the department Take direction from supervisors and shift leadership Complete all required documentation accurately and on time Maintain punctual and consistent attendance Qualifications Required Minimum 3 months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience in a food manufacturing or GMP-regulated environment Familiarity with high-speed packaging and filling equipment Basic troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions Strong attention to safety, quality, and accuracy Skills Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) Ability to read, write, and communicate simple instructions and documentation Strong problem-solving skills in a structured environment Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Frequent use of hands, arms, and reaching movements Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs without assistance Ability to lift/move over 50 lbs with assistance when needed Exposure to loud environments, moving mechanical equipment, cold temperatures, and vibration Compensation $21.00
  • $23.00 per hour Schedule 2nd Shift Monday
  • Friday 3:00 PM
  • 11:30 PM ️ Candidates must be flexible and available to work daily overtime as needed.
