Job Description

SUMMARY Hourly rate to be determined based on discipline. This is a Part-Time Instructor Pool in our Continuing Education Workforce Development (CEWD) department for available assignments during the academic year. This position is limited to no more than 19 hours per week. Applications are considered throughout the academic year and reviewed based on departmental needs. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include working days, evenings and/or weekends. If a degree, certification or licensure is required, the provision of official transcripts and/or certifications must be received in the Office of Human Resources within (30) days of hire. Applicants with academic credentials from non-U.S. accredited institutions are required to have their coursework evaluated in terms of U.S. "equivalency." All international credential evaluations must be conducted by one of the companies affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES®) in order to be considered for a faculty position. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES SUMMARY
Provides instruction in drum, tote, and bulk filling procedures, preparing students to safely operate filling equipment, follow material-handling protocols, prevent spills, and comply with workplace safety and quality standards. This position is limited to no more than 19 hours per week and is as needed based on community needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and deliver instruction on drum, tote, and bulk filling operations in industrial and manufacturing environments. Teach proper setup, operation, monitoring, shutdown, and cleaning procedures for filling equipment. Instruct students on safe handling of liquids, chemicals, and other materials during filling and transfer operations. Teach proper selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and applicable workplace safety procedures. Provide instruction on container inspection, compatibility, labeling, identification, and preparation prior to filling. Teach procedures for accurate filling, weighing, measuring, sampling, and verification of product quantities. Instruct students in spill prevention, containment, leak detection, and appropriate emergency response procedures. Teach students to identify and respond to equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and unsafe operating conditions. Provide instruction on grounding, bonding, static electricity control, and other applicable safety practices. Teach proper storage, staging, movement, and handling of filled drums, totes, and bulk containers. Incorporate hands-on demonstrations, simulations, equipment exercises, and industry-based scenarios into instruction. Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to twenty (20) pounds.

Working knowledge of artificial intelligence (Al )tools and the ability to use them responsibly, ethically, and in compliance with organizational guidelines .
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant industry experience in drum, tote, bulk filling, chemical processing, manufacturing, packaging, material handling, or plant operations. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related field. Demonstrated understanding of filling procedures, equipment operation, spill prevention, PPE, quality control, and workplace safety practices.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Good communication and interpersonal skills Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, as well as intermediate computer skills. Must be familiar with interactive teaching methods and instruction via the Internet.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience operating or training personnel on filling, transfer, weighing, packaging, or material-handling equipment.
Certifications/training:
OSHA safety training, Hazard Communication (HazCom), forklift/material-handling certification, HAZWOPER, and other relevant industrial safety credentials. Working knowledge of Blackboard course management system
