As business needs dictate; training will probably be 1st shift for 6+ months and then moved to other shifts as needed The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA. EOIS develops, manufactures, and supports infrared and electro-optical solutions for soldiers, ground vehicles and airborne platforms. Job Responsibilities Intricate Craftsmanship:
This role involves creating detailed and precise work, requiring an artistic touch and attention to minute details, distinct from the typical duties of a wafer semiconductor operator which primarily focus on tool operation and wafer processing.
Handling Small Parts:
Utilize tweezers and other precision tools to develop small and intricate components with utmost accuracy.
Precision Shaping:
Operate various tools and sprayers to shape materials meticulously, following detailed specifications.
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records using Manufacturing Execution Software. Managing WIP (Work In Progress) /
Process Flow:
Efficiently manage work in progress and optimize production process flow.
Cleanroom Production:
Perform various functions in a cleanroom environment, adhering to stringent cleanliness protocols.
Fine Motor Skills:
Utilize exceptional hand dexterity for precise tasks and efficient handling of small and delicate components.
Adaptive Problem-Solving:
Proactively adjust techniques to improve efficiency and outcomes when necessary. Proper Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): Adhere to all safety guidelines and properly use required PPE.
Interpreting Instructions:
Accurately interpret process flow instructions and other written or verbal guidelines.
Qualifications Qualifications Education:
Associates Degree. Bachelors Degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 25 lbs less than 5% per week, and the ability to stand or walk 50% of the time.
Work Flexibility:
Willingness to work varying shifts based on business needs.
Comprehension:
Proficiency in reading and comprehending work instructions in plain English.
Desired Skills Hand-Eye Coordination:
Strong coordination skills for accurate assembly.
Manual Dexterity:
Ability to handle small and delicate components efficiently.
Microscope Familiarity:
Comfortable working with microscopes for detailed assembly.

Innovative in troubleshooting and resolving production challenges.

Efficiently manage time and meet production deadlines.

Tool Interaction Intuition:
Ability to understand tool interactions with materials, enabling precise adjustments for optimal shaping and finishing. U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
