JOB #864-108 Pacesetter Personnel Services is hiring a Tape Edge Machine Operator in the Downtown Houston area.

Pay:

$16.00 an hour. We pay weekly.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday from 6:00AM-5:00PM. Weekends and overtime as needed.

Position Summary:

Operates fabricating Closing Tape Edge Machine that completes the final step in the assembly process. Assures high quality mattresses are produced within the specified time schedule and in the safest possible manner.

Job Duties:

Moves untapped mattress to the Tape Edge work station. Positions mattress against stops or aligns layout marks with stitching mechanism. Selects proper tape guide and installs, applies proper tape according to specifications. Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine. Engages feed and activates machine. Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction. Pays close attention to the noise and pitch of the machine to insure all tape is applied properly. Closes watches application of tape to mattress to insure it meets appearance standards. Inspects each mattress for defects prior to removing to packing conveyor. Reads specification book for questions and problem solving Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces. Assists machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces. moves finished pieces to packing conveyor. Assists Associates in moving mattresses. Performs other machine operation tasks as cross trained and directed by Production Supervisor. Cleans work area and assists in cleaning other areas as directed by Production Supervisor.

Job Duties:

Previous Tape Edge Machine experience is preferred. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Must wear personal protection equipment as instructed by training or supervisor. Must be able to lift 80+ lbs. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
