Job Description

Aerotek is seeking a Manufacturing Machine Operator Job Description The Manufacturing Machine Operator sets up and operates production equipment on a high-volume manufacturing line, ensuring consistent product quality and safe, efficient operations. This role involves physical, hands-on work with machinery and materials, frequent use of powered industrial vehicles, and close attention to safety and quality standards in a heavy industrial environment with rotating 12-hour shifts. Responsibilities Set up raw materials along the production line to ensure continuous operation. Operate palletizers to stack and organize finished products onto pallets. Operate the shingle wrapper and stretch wrappers for all pallets to properly package products. Operate banding equipment to secure pallets and finished goods for transport and storage. Operate powered industrial vehicles, including forklifts, Mules, sweepers, and scrubbers, to move materials and maintain a clean work area. Load and stack rewraps and other materials as needed to support production flow. Maintain and troubleshoot the shingle machine to minimize downtime and maintain safe operation. Clear jams and other obstructions from machines and conveyors safely and promptly. Inspect the quality of finished products, ensuring they meet established specifications and standards. Build and organize pallets according to production and shipping requirements. Clean and maintain manufacturing equipment and the production area to support safe and efficient operations. Assist other areas of the production process as needed to meet daily and weekly goals. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about equipment issues, production status, and quality concerns. Accurately follow work instructions and production schedules to meet output targets. Essential Skills At least 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment. Proven experience performing physical labor in an industrial or production setting. Ability to work safely and effectively with basic hand tools. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Experience working 12-hour shifts in a rotating schedule. Comfort working in a hot or cold environment and on your feet for 90%-95% of the shift. Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products for extended periods, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Ability to work every other weekend as part of a rotating schedule. Strong attention to detail for quality inspection and safe machine operation. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a heavy industrial manufacturing plant with 12-hour shifts on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. Shifts rotate every two weeks between days (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) and nights (7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.), and you must be willing to work every other weekend. You will spend the majority of your shift on your feet, standing and walking for extended periods. The environment can be loud, and temperature control is limited, so conditions can become extremely hot or cold depending on the season and weather. The work involves frequent climbing, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, stretching, and repeated lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of products, with or without a reasonable accommodation. You will work around large manufacturing equipment, powered industrial vehicles, and production lines, and you will use basic hand tools and industrial machinery as part of your daily tasks.
