Job Description & Responsibilities A Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining packaging machinery to produce finished products for storage, distribution, and sales, duties include:

Machine Operation & Setup:

Operate and adjust packaging machines according to exact specifications

Quality Control:

Inspect packaged products for defects, ensure correct labeling, and maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, and OSHA standards

Changeover & Maintenance:

Perform product changeovers, adjust speeds, pressures, and temperatures, and conduct routine maintenance to prevent downtime

Troubleshooting:

Identify and resolve mechanical/electrical malfunctions; report issues to supervisors or maintenance staff

Safety & Compliance:

Keep safety guards in place, maintain a clean, organized work area, and follow all plant safety rules

Inventory & Supplies:

Stock and sort packaging materials, replenish supplies, and palletize finished goods

Documentation:

Record production data, report discrepancies, and log maintenance activities

Required Skills & Qualifications Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in packaging, manufacturing, or mechanical fields is preferred

Experience:

1-10+ years operating packaging machines in a manufacturing environment, as well as basic mechanics to be able to make machine adjustments and perform

PMs Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving, forklift operation, inventory control, and attention to detail

Certifications:

OSHA, HACCP, WHMIS, or related food safety certifications are often required Bilingual (English/Spanish) Highly preferred Pay depends on experience - $22 to $28 per hour

$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
