Reporting to : Shift Supervisor Position Summary The Filler Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production line equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality product output. This role includes performing setup, changeovers, and minor adjustments or repairs, completing required documentation and quality checks, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the production area. The Filler Operator adheres to safety guidelines, SOPs, GMPs, and HACCP standards, communicates effectively with supervisors and team members, and supports all production and packaging processes. Flexibility to work overtime, evenings, or weekends is required to meet customer demands and operational goals. Cross training on the Kettles is expected. Core Responsibilities Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment of the production line Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of product Make adjustments to filler timing and filling as needed Watch for jams and effectively threading wrap to prevent downtime. Report malfunctions to supervisor Ability to perform filler and filler line changeovers in a safe and efficient matter Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed. Assist in cleaning the production area and equipment by sweeping, mopping, and removing debris. Clean and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides. Any tasks that support the processes of the production & packaging of the products on their line. Perform assignments and directives provided by the Supervisor. Adheres to all safety guidelines Standards of performance (SOP's), Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP's), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP). Communicates regularly with the Production Team Lead. Accountable to meet daily goals set by the operations management to fulfill customer requirements. Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of department area and equipment. Follow prescribed safety policies as established by the company. Special projects and other duties as assigned. Demonstrate willingness to work overtime as required. Available for evening and weekend hours work schedules if needed to fulfill customer requirements. Required Qualifications Understand and follow SOPs and GMP guidelines Ability to comprehend on-the-job training Requires a high degree of accuracy in the job performance and attention to detail. Satisfactory knowledge in Basic Arithmetic. This will enable the employee to perform basic weighing and measuring functions. Must be able to use a calculator. Basic Reading and Comprehension - Employee is required to read and comprehend bulk-manufacturing documentation. Read, write and speak English fluently. Satisfactory safety record and work performance. Committed to reliable attendance & completion of work assignments Understand importance of teamwork and how it applies to the production environment. Willingness to share new ideas with others. Able to pass fit test to wear a cartridge respirator.
Physical Demands:
Medium - Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Ability to stand for a long period of time as well as raise and move up to 50 pounds unassisted and maneuver drums weighing approximately 440 pounds.
