Whether it's in the field, in the ocean or on the launch pad, we deliver maximum value. We are seeking a skilled Polymer Manufacturing Operator. In this hands-on role, you will operate and perform basic maintenance on fabric converting & preform winding machines and compression molding presses to produce highly engineering rubber-fabric products. The ideal candidate takes pride in owning defect-free production by continuous attention to performance of the machines he/she operates. Requirements:
Role & Responsibilities:
Read and follow work instructions and work orders to ensure accurate production. Set up and operate equipment including fabric cutting, seaming, preform winding, compression molding, and trimming/marking machines. Continuously observe machine behavior; report changes in noise, temperature, smoothness, etc. Perform in-process quality control using calipers, Pi tape, and visual inspection; identify defects or changes in part/machine behavior and report. Adapt to new processes and work instructions as they change over time Maintain accurate production logs of output, downtime, and material usage Suggest process improvements for greater consistency, higher quality, faster output, or lower scrap Perform routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S standards Follow all plant safety protocols, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Experience with fabric/textile handling equipment or rubber compression/injection presses is a plus Able to lift 35+ lbs repeatedly and stand/move throughout an entire shift Ready to work overtime or rotating shifts when needed Able to read, write, and understand basic English Able to obtain a Vulcan-provided crane & forklift certification; prior crane/forklift experience is a plus
Work Schedule & Travel Requirements:
Monday - Thursday 4:15pm - 2:30am
