They weigh and measure ingredients, mix and grind materials, and handle parts while adjusting machine controls. The job also involves cleaning materials, inspecting, and testing components, enclosing them in housings, marking them with identifying information, and keeping accurate production records. Work Environment:
The GE Aerospace facility in McAllen is one of our centers of expertise specializing in the repair of engine components used in commercial and military aircraft. These include LPT Nozzles, HPT Nozzles, and HPT Hangars. You'll find state of the art technologies in CNC, EDM, and Coating as well as advanced technology development within our new Tech Lab.
Essential Responsibilities:
Read work orders, formulas, and processing charts to determine specifications and sequence of operations. Weigh and measure specified ingredients and binding agents. Mix and grind materials. Load and unload parts, monitor operations, and adjust controls of various processing machines and equipment to prepare, combine, or alter materials to achieve specific component properties. Clean materials as required before processing operations. Inspect, measure, and test components to ensure they meet specifications. Enclose components in housings and stamp or etch identifying information on finished components. Count, sort, and weigh processed items. Maintain accurate manual or computerized records of production and inspection data. Adhere to all safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out, reporting safety concerns, using appropriate PPE, and following all safety practices. Ensure all products meet quality assurance standards.
Desired Characteristics:
At least 1 year of experience and/or training in a related manufacturing or production environment. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and identify process improvements. Strong teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate effectively with others. Commitment to following and promoting safe work practices. Effective communication skills This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
