Temp RPM Staffing is seeking skilled and motivated 1st and 2nd shift Punch / Laser Operators in Rowlett, Texas. The well qualified candidates will have experience operating punch presses and laser cutting equipment, a strong commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate punch and laser cutting machines to produce quality parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. Follow all company safety policies and maintain safe work practices at all times. Perform preventative maintenance and routine machine inspections according to established checklists. Complete and document required weekly machine maintenance activities. Interpret blueprints, travelers, work orders, and related documentation to ensure accurate production. Configure machine settings and job setups based on material type, thickness, and production requirements. Select, maintain, sharpen, and properly store punch tooling; keep the tool crib organized and maintained. Understand metal characteristics, thicknesses, and grain directions as specified on production documents. Inspect finished parts for burrs, burns, slag, and other defects, making machine adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards. Complete required sampling, quality inspections, and production documentation accurately. Identify and report equipment, tooling, documentation, or process issues in a timely manner. Report any machine safeguards or safety-related concerns immediately to the Supervisor. Communicate effectively with supervisors, management, and other departments to support production goals. Utilize proper punch tooling techniques, laser cutting practices, deburring methods, and efficient manufacturing processes. Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment as required. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Supervisor. Qualifications & Requirements Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities listed above. Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and a commitment to leading by example. Experience operating Pega punch machines and laser cutting equipment preferred. Knowledge of machine setup, tooling selection, and parameter adjustments for various materials and thicknesses. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the workday in a manufacturing environment. Ability to safely lift and handle parts weighing up to 35 pounds. Ability to assist in other shop functions as needed within reasonable physical exertion limits. Forklift operation experience preferred or willingness to become certified.
