We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Encapsulation Operator to join our team and oversee the maintenance operations of our manufacturing facility. We're seeking a motivated, self-driven Encapsulation Operator to join our team and help maintain the highest standards of manufacturing quality and efficiency. Position Overview The Encapsulation Operator is responsible for operating, cleaning, and maintaining encapsulation machines—both automatic and semi-automatic—while adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role is essential in ensuring that dietary supplement capsules meet precise quality, safety, and production standards. Key Responsibilities Operate automatic and semi-automatic encapsulation machines, polishers, capsule inspection tables, and filters per SOPs and GMPs. Set up and disassemble encapsulation equipment for production and cleaning. Conduct in-process quality checks, including capsule weight and visual inspections, ensuring product meets all batch requirements. Maintain and document cleanliness of equipment and production area in compliance with sanitation standards. Follow hygiene protocols including handwashing, proper gowning, and sanitization. Complete accurate production documentation including batch records, weights, yields, and downtime logs. Perform routine machine maintenance and immediately report mechanical issues to a supervisor. Assist in preparing and verifying raw materials (e.g., blends, capsules, barrels, totes) according to the Bill of Materials (BOM). Keep all tools, equipment, and materials organized. Prepare the room for the next shift by ensuring thorough cleaning, waste removal, and tool storage. Follow all safety and PPE requirements at all times. Cross-train in at least two other areas such as Powder Fill, Mixing, or Packaging. Train new operators once fully certified and assume accountability for their performance during the training period. Perform other duties as assigned, including supporting other departments if directed. Qualifications and Competencies High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Proficient in basic math:
add, subtract, multiply, divide, and percentages. Familiarity with encapsulation equipment and processes preferred. Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and ability to troubleshoot issues. Good communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Willingness to work overtime and adjust responsibilities as needed for business needs. Demonstrated commitment to quality, cleanliness, and team collaboration. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus. Physical Requirements Stand for extended periods (8-10 hours) and lift up to 55 lbs repeatedly. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead regularly. Operate machines using hands and wrists in repetitive movements. Work in enclosed rooms and moderate-noise environments. Must be medically qualified to wear half-mask or full-air respirators. Capable of using cleaning and sanitizing agents safely and effectively.
