Job Description

Starting base pay $18.50/hour plus additional $1.00 shift differential. Additional $0.50 per hour after completing 90 days $50.00 per week attendance bonus/ No missed time
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Using forklift, take completed pallets of processed coiled metal to their proper locations and have them scanned correctly using a handheld scanner. Correct any load of metal that has been moved and returned to the Coating Line or Slitter area and returned due to improper stacking. Palletize processed coils from the slitter according to their final destination. (Using cardboard separators, strapping with poly and steel banding, and stretch wrapping pallets) If empty pallets are not in good condition, remove them immediately from the East Warehouse. (If this is not possible, due to any shortages, notify the Supervisor immediately.) Stretch wrap finished product using auto stretch wrap machine and hand wrapper. During set-ups or production changes, assist in clearing materials no longer necessary for either Coating Line or Slitter and return to their proper location. Assist Slitter Operator with unloading processed metal from the slitter mandrels. Cut fiber cores on the core cutter to the correct lengths according to the needs of the slitter and Coating Line work orders. Cut rejected or stub coils from the Slitter and Coating Line and process in the baler. Take baled scrap bricks on pallet to scale to be weighed and taken to warehouse storage. Inspect forklift daily and document inspection. Operate forklift to move material around the warehouse. Assist Slitter and Coating Line operators with any changeovers on each machine when needed. Produce high quality products safely and hygienically as per company GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
BALER RESPONSIBILITIES
(Daily tasks to be completed by Process Assistant, Coating Line Operator, and Slitter Operator) Responsible for assisting with operation of baler — prevent and correct any jams. Collect scrap pans from East Warehouse floor and take to baler area. Remove aluminum bricks from baler conveyor/slide and palletize neatly on pallet. Band full pallets of aluminum scrap Sweep floor scrap into collection blower mouth at end of shift.
HOUSEKEEPING ITEMS
Maintain a neat, uncluttered area. Keep the area around the bales of packaging corrugate clean and free of strapping and excess cardboard wrappings. Discard all nylon banding from packaging materials. Collect scrap cardboard during the shift and take to the cardboard baler or pallet in Press Room. Keep the East Warehouse floor uncluttered so operators and fork trucks can move freely around the processing equipment. Maintain a neat and orderly area in the metal storage areas. Discard to the dumpsters any used cores from the rolls of metal. Assist in general clean up. SAFETY Must follow all Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) Hazard Assessment requirements Must follow all Environmental Health and Safety procedural requirements
