Job Description

Candidate Source is hiring Machine Operators for a manufacturing facility in Newport News, VA. In this role, you'll operate and monitor automated filling equipment used to bottle olive oil, perform quality checks, and help keep production running safely and efficiently. The team values people who bring a positive attitude, work well with others, and take pride in being dependable. On-the-job training is provided, but previous manufacturing experience is required.

PM What You'll Do:
Operate and monitor automated filling equipment to maintain accurate fill levels. Set up and adjust filling machines according to product specifications. Perform machine changeovers between production runs. Complete routine quality checks for fill levels, bottle integrity, and product flow. Identify and correct underfills, overfills, leaks, and spills. Record production information, including lot numbers and quality checks. Make minor machine adjustments and report equipment issues to the Supervisor or Maintenance team. Maintain a clean production area according to GMP and sanitation standards. Follow food safety, HACCP, and workplace safety procedures. Help minimize downtime and product waste while meeting production expectations.
What We're Looking For:
Previous manufacturing experience is required. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand basic machine functions. Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality. Positive attitude and a team-oriented approach. Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 40-50 pounds as needed. Comfortable with frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements. Comfortable working around moving machinery and production noise. Ability to wear required PPE throughout the shift.
The Work Environment:
This is a hands-on food manufacturing position working around automated production equipment. You'll be on your feet for extended periods, perform repetitive movements, visually inspect products and fill levels, and work around production machinery and noise. Safety, food quality, teamwork, and reliability are important parts of the day-to-day environment. #IND16
