This role converts large-format sheets of Eska's proprietary fiberboard into customer-specified sizes while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards. Equipment Overview Operators work with rotary board cutting and slitting equipment, including Kolbus and Milwaukee machinery. These machines are designed for high-precision cutting of recycled solid board and similar materials used in products such as book covers, game boards, and packaging. The process includes master sheet feeding, precision cutting using knife shafts and circular knives, and finished sheet delivery through conveyors and automatic palletizing systems. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Set up machines by adjusting settings, loading raw materials, and preparing equipment for production runs. Verify that the correct raw materials are being used for each job. Monitor machine operations to ensure proper function, quality output, and efficient production. Conduct regular quality checks to ensure finished materials meet customer specifications. Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, performing minor maintenance as needed, including installation of knives, hubs, and related components. Coordinate with maintenance technicians for preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs. Ensure finished materials are labeled correctly. Operate machinery safely and follow all company safety protocols and procedures. Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and workflow. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of waste materials. Complete production logs, reports, and documentation accurately and on time. Participate in training to improve machine operation, safety, and technical skills. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualified Candidates Must Possess High school diploma or equivalent. At least two years of experience operating industrial machinery. Military experience and/or at least two years of experience in a dedicated trade skill may be substituted. Intermediate to advanced mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Intermediate computer skills. Ability to read measurements down to 1/64 of an inch. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as directed. Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations. Physical ability to perform the manual requirements of the job. Familiarity with paper, board, or fiberboard slitting equipment or similar cutting systems is a plus.
