Team Staffing is currently searching for candidates for a company in West Burlington to fill their 1 st shift Machine Operator positions. This is a long-term placement where candidates must want to grow with the company and be a team player. Candidates but have proven machine operating experience to qualify.
Hours:
7am
  • 3:30 pm, Monday
Friday Pay:
$16.00/hr. Machine Operator will set up, maintain, and operate advanced Automatic Wire Striping and Crimping Centers. You'll ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. Wire Cut Strip and Crimp is a fundamental step of the wiring harnesses manufacturing process, consisting in the cut to length, jacket striping and terminal crimping of electrical wires.
TECHNICAL
Blueprint reading. Capacity to match color abbreviation to an actual color Capacity to sort wires gauges Pick correct terminals, dies, wires from stock
  • identified by p/n Mechanical skills
  • die set up, terminal and wires set up in the machine Capacity to set dies in the machine and perform the necessary mechanical adjustments Capacity to align terminals on the die Computer skills (use of the machine setting, data input, warning messages). Preventive maintenance concept
  • daily cleaning and care of the machine Capacity to understand the metric system Follow directions Follow a daily job list that requires multiple dies, wires, terminal set up Listen to the machine, operator must monitor the machine all the time.
It is not a set and forget job Prepare the next needed tools during the execution of the current job Sort, coil, the processed wires in an ordered manner on wire racks
PHYSICAL
Stand up all shift Walk to stock, walk around the machine Operator must be able to do a visual inspection of every piece manufactured and perform crimp height test and pull force test of pieces that are eventually smaller than 1mm. No color blindness Steady hand Hands coordination Capacity to move wire barrels (using a hand truck). Sporadic weightlifting.
