Immediate Press Operator opening on all shifts!
Compensation:
Compensation $25 - $35, based on experience plus additional shift differential for working our 2nd and 3rd shifts. 1st shift: Monday-Friday 7am - 3pm 2nd shift: Monday- Friday 3pm-11pm 3rd shift: Sunday-Thursday 11pm-7am The Machine Operator III is responsible for producing printed products in the most efficient manner, maximizing time while minimizing waste. Setting up the press and making necessary adjustments to speed, tension, ink volumes and viscosities etc.. to achieve high standards of quality printed products that meet internal and external standards. The Machine Operator III operators positively contribute to the team environment, both on and off the manufacturing floor and are expected to work independently, with minimal supervision. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Partner with business leaders on organizational design, career development, workforce planning, Set up press by installing printing plates, adjusting ink levels and loading materials and correctly shut down machine daily. Operate press to produce materials following work instructions (WI)based on specification and quality standards. Conduct in-process quality inspections to ensure finished products meet precise specifications and take corrective action, if required. Monitor machine during operation and make real-time adjustments to settings such as pressure, temperature or speed to maintain and ensure accuracy of product. Perform routine 'maintenance' on press to include cleaning and lubricating machinery and parts to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve small mechanical issues that arise during shift to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate documentation in spreadsheets. to ensure output, downtime and issues are tracked. Cross-train to be able to run additional pieces of production equipment, as needed, meeting production and quality standards. Communicate with others (on team, across shift changes, and to other departments) as needed, for successful completion of assigned work. Understand, and follow, all safety instructions and practices Track production supplies at assigned station and ensure proper levels maintained Keep work center, and factory, clean, neat, and safe as a working environment. Train other staff members as required on processes they are fully trained on. Support process improvement efforts, as follows: Participate in process improvement teams and initiatives that directly impact work processes, environment, and quality of product. Contribute ideas toward improving processes (output and quality) and/or lowering costs Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of printing processes and press maintenance. Strong attention to detail- ability to maintain high-quality printing and accurately follow product specifications. Sound mechanical aptitude Strong problem-solving skills - capability of identifying and correcting issues that arise during the printing process. Ability to stand for longer periods of time during shift Strong manual dexterity Ability to follow safety protocol and exhibit safety conscious behavior Effective English communication skills: Ability to understand written and spoken safety, quality and machine process instructions. Ability to communicate with team members, supervisors, managers and others; both asking and answering questions, as required. Ability to comfortably operate in a Windows environment required. Self-motivated team player displaying a positive and engaging attitude. Team player who gets along well with others. Ability to follow company policies and procedures and is role model to other team members. Ability to comply and satisfactorily pass pre-employment background and drug screening. Ability to complete and be granted/maintain a US Department of State MRPT clearance as a condition of employment as described in our employee handbook A preliminary and interim security background check must be passed before employment begins and the full MRPT application completed up on starting employment. All offers of employment are conditional based upon successful completion, approval, and maintenance of this clearance. Education and/or Experience 3+ years' experience operating a printing press and a High School Diploma or equivalent required. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with printing is preferred. Basic Microsoft Excel experience
