Machine Operator- Main Mill 1st Shift

POSITION SUMMARY

This key position requires the efficient and safe operation of a variety of machines on the milling production line. Also requires excellent math skills, mechanical skill, and ability to read and follow customer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform a variety of tasks including: operation of a cnc machine, router and/or sander, as well as stacking flanges. Follow safety rules, procedures, guidelines, and training given. Recognize and report hazards to designated individual(s). Actively participate in safety program. Practice safe work habits and report accidents/injuries immediately. Flexibility in job assignments and adaptability to changing business needs Continually learn and apply new skills. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area Work cooperatively with team members. Actively listen and ask questions to understand. Contribute to a positive team environment. Maintain excellent attendance, including overtime as required. Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned and fill in at other areas, or other buildings, as needed.

Experience:

Prior machine operation/manufacturing experience preferred but not required General knowledge of small hand tools.

Self-motivated and able to work independently Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Proficiency in reading a tape measure Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
