Plastics Extrusion Operator Wanted in Pierce County! Are you an experienced machine operator with a strong mechanical aptitude, sharp eye for quality, and background in continuous industrial manufacturing? American Workforce Group has partnered with a premier polyethylene film and flexible packaging manufacturer serving clients across North America to hire a full-time Plastics Extrusion Operator in Pierce County, WA . In this technical production role, you will set up, operate, monitor, and fine-tune continuous blown/cast film extrusion lines, calibrate temperature and pressure controls, execute swift product changeovers, and ensure defect-free film quality while minimizing scrap. Plastics Extrusion Operator:
Safely set up, operate, monitor, and adjust continuous polyethylene film extrusion lines and winding equipment. Calibrate and fine-tune process parameters including die temperatures, line pressures, air rings, extruder speeds, and draw ratios to maintain strict gauge and quality tolerances. Perform routine dimensional, visual, and physical quality inspections (gauge thickness, clarity, sealability) and log test results accurately. Execute efficient product line changeovers, resin feed adjustments, and screen changes while actively minimizing scrap and downtime. Troubleshoot process variations and mechanical bottlenecks in collaboration with shift supervisors and plant maintenance technicians. Maintain comprehensive digital and written production reports, scrap tracking logs, and downtime documentation. Maintain an immaculate, organized work center and strictly adhere to plant safety guidelines, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and PPE requirements. Details for

Pay Rate:
$22.00 - $32.00 / hour (Scaling based on direct plastics/extrusion background, technical qualifications, shift assignment, and depth of experience / DOE).
Schedule:
Full-Time (Shift schedules vary based on plant production needs; overtime and weekend availability may be required).

Plastics Extrusion Operator:
Manufacturing Background:
Prior machine operation experience in an industrial manufacturing environment required (direct •blown film or plastics extrusion experience strongly preferred•).
Mechanical Troubleshooting:
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose process issues and make machine adjustments.
Measurement & Math:
Solid baseline math and measurement literacy (calipers, micrometers, tape measures) to follow strict production specifications.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and perform continuous standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and climbing throughout the shift. Comfortable working around ambient heat, industrial machinery noise, and active production lines while wearing required PPE. Exceptional track record of attendance reliability, teamwork, and a safety-first mindset.
