Non-Exempt Summary/Description:
Perform a variety of moderate complex machining operations from tool setup through production run completion. Utilizes diagrams, drawings, work orders, or oral and written instructions to machine products. Maintain a high level of quality/craftsmanship. Performs basic troubleshooting and problem solving, works with programming/ engineering as required. Utilizes various hand tools, inspection tools, and tooling to complete job assignment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Under supervision select, Setup, and operation of machines and machining tools. Monitor quality and workmanship, verification of dimensional requirements to print. Maintain company assets, environment, and atmosphere
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May be required to instruct operators in proper operation of machine tools/practices. Instruct proper procedures in loading and unloading parts. Instruct machine assistants in inspection of production detail parts to ensure quality/dimensional values are maintained and verified to print.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of machining experience and/or on the job training with intermediate level ability and understanding of requirements. Intermediate ability to read and interpret drawings. Work from oral and written instructions. Align/locate fixtures and set cutting tools for both new and reoccurring production runs. Ability to provide accurate and direct feedback to lead/supervisor as required. Use of various inspection, hand tools. Operate and monitor production.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Familiar with the following machines and/or controls- Various Omax, Multicam , DMG MORI, HAAS, Mitsubishi, Fanuc, Siemens, CELOS, HeidenHain controls Bridgeport EZ Trak Manual mills and lathes Various sheet metal and/or Honeycomb routers, Waterjets, digital routers, Lasers Various saws Brake press, shears, presses Hand tools, pneumatic tools
Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook Language Skills:
Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence, co-worker tie in, and direct feedback to internal/external depts. Ability to effectively present/relay information in one-one and smaller group situations to other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurements, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Understanding of basic trigonometry. Understanding English and metric measurement systems and ability to convert both.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or drawing form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables inn standardized situations.
