Job Description

Overview The position of Zamboni Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the ice resurfacer (Zamboni) and maintenance of all areas pertaining to and/or involved in maintaining a quality sheet of ice for a professional hockey team. The Zamboni Operator will work on both the Angel of the Winds Arena ice sheet and the Community Ice Rink Sheet. This role pays an hourly rate of $22.00.

401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. This position will remain open until December 4, 2026. Responsibilities Provide optimal ice conditions for all ice events. Responsible for occasional maintenance and repair of rink equipment to include, but not limited to: Zamboni, dasher system, subfloor, tempered glass, acrylic glass, safety netting, Jet Ice systems, edgers, goal nets, etc. Proper documentation of maintenance and ice measurements. Assist with ice installation and removal. Assist the Operations department to expedite event conversions. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience as a Zamboni Operator supporting ice resurfacing is preferred. Experience with operating heavy machinery is a plus. Solid understanding of OSHA rules and regulations. Must be comfortable working in a cold environment for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of time. Must be able to climb stairs/ladder. Ability to adhere to building policies and event requirements. Ability to read and follow detailed instructions as well as communicate effectively with others. Must be able to work irregular hours to include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
