Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Slab Sawyer to join our premier stone countertop fabrication team. In this role, you will operate our advanced BACA Systems Robo SawJet equipment to transition raw granite, quartz, and quartzite slabs into high-end, precision-cut masterpieces.
Key Responsibilities:
Load & Position Slabs:
Safely operate overhead cranes and vacuum lift systems to position heavy material onto the saw tables.
System Programming:
Load engineering layouts, set cut sequencing, and utilize specialized tool selections via custom software interfaces.
Template Nesting:
Nest template layouts over digital projection displays to maximize material yields and minimize slab waste.
Monitor Operations:
Oversee automated cutting lines, managing both the high-pressure waterjet and high-horsepower direct-drive saw mechanics.
Quality Inspection:
Verify precise multi-point slab thicknesses and inspect finished edges for flawless seams.
Qualifications:
Prior experience operating CNC machinery or robotic cutting platforms (experience explicitly with BACA Systems or KUKA robotics is a major plus). Ability to read blueprints, digital template files, and engineering diagrams. Physical capability to handle heavy industrial components and work in a wet/dust-managed environment. Strong basic mathematical skills and laser-sharp attention to detail.
Pay:
$36.00 - $40.00 per hour
