Posted Position:
This Sawyer role is critical to Van Doren Sales' success as a leader in fruit and produce handling equipment. You'll operate saws and cutting equipment to accurately prepare materials for fabrication and assembly, helping ensure quality products and efficient production. To succeed in this role, you must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to follow drawings, cut lists, and production instructions. You will report directly to the Production Manager and work closely with the production team to keep projects moving safely and efficiently. Responsibilities of this position:
  • Operate band saws, cold saws, and other cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Use grinders and other finishing tools to debur cut materials.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and material lists.
  • Measure, mark, and cut materials to required specifications and tolerances.
  • Verify dimensions and quality of cut materials before releasing to production.
  • Maintain material identification and organization.
  • Use a computer to clock in and out of jobs, issue materials to jobs, and maintain inventory.
  • Load and unload materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, or other equipment.
  • Perform basic saw maintenance and inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Preferred skills:
  • Have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in a production/manufacturing setting.
  • Basic computer skills
