SUMMARY OF CLASSIFICATION

This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of laser cutting machines.

Responsibilities:

Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures on laser machines. Have basic blueprint knowledge. Use Epicor ERP to log into and out of jobs. Must be able to regulate and set-up equipment. Load programs and tools as authorized to ensure operation. Load and unload machines. Stage raw materials at each work-center for the day's production. Maintain daily dust collector service and associated logbook in assigned area and report equipment deficiencies. Assist in loading and unloading team members' machines when production requires additional manpower to maintain throughput. Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufactures machine recommendations.

Requirements:

Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids. Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation. Desire to learn new skills. Strong orientation toward quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift 35 lbs. and over. Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma, GED, or equivalency . Experience with power and hand tools required. Basic math and communication skills required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift, carry, push, pull, grip, and grasp up to 35 lbs. Employees also frequently bend, twist, and reach and may stand and/or walk up to 8-10 hours per day.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Job consists of working in a manufacturing facility. Job could consist of making changes by hand or by running machinery equipment. Will receive objects or parts on conveyer belt, be responsible for your portion of the job, and then pass materials down conveyer belt or to next worker.
