Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various saw machines to accurately cut materials according to technical specifications and production requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with CNC and manual saw equipment, and a thorough understanding of blueprint reading and measurement techniques. This position plays a vital role in ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency within our production environment, supporting our commitment to quality manufacturing. Responsibilities Operate different types of saw machinery, including CNC saws, band saws, and manual cutting tools, ensuring precise cuts aligned with technical drawings and production schedules. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing documents to determine cutting dimensions and specifications. Set up and calibrate saw equipment using appropriate tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on saw machines to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Follow safety standards rigorously during machine operation, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols. Measure finished parts with precision instruments to verify dimensional accuracy in accordance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Assist with materials handling, including loading raw materials onto machines using forklifts or hand tools, and preparing finished products for packaging or further assembly. Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high quality standards. Maintain accurate records of machine settings, measurements, and production output for quality control purposes. Experience Proven experience operating saw machinery such as CNC saws, band saws, or manual cutting equipment within a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Strong mechanical knowledge related to industrial equipment troubleshooting and maintenance. Familiarity with CNC programming, CAM programming, and interpreting technical drawings is highly desirable. Experience reading blueprints and understanding fabrication processes including press brake operation, stamping presses, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawings. Knowledge of shop math, GD&T principles, and the use of precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers. Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience emphasizing safety standards in production environments. Ability to operate forklifts safely when required for materials handling. Basic understanding of packaging procedures and warehouse operations is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting while maintaining focus on quality control. $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
