Floater Machine Operator 2nd Shift

Operate and adjust pellet mill equipment and dryer systems to maintain production, product density, moisture specifications, and daily operating records. Job Requirements Experience operating pellet mills or similar production equipment Ability to adjust pellet mills and dryer inlet and outlet temperatures to specification Ability to monitor bin levels and maintain material flow Ability to regulate material mix to achieve target pellet moisture and density Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, spot fires, and hot bearings Ability to maintain feed rates and change pellet mill rolls and dies as needed Ability to complete daily production and operating reports Ability to perform moisture and density checks to specification Preferred Skills Experience working with sawdust, shavings, or similar raw material blends Experience monitoring dryer performance and material moisture levels Experience tracking mill hours, gas usage, and production estimates Experience performing production quality checks in a manufacturing environment Job Responsibilities Operate and adjust four pellet mills during production Regulate dryer inlet and outlet temperatures according to specifications Oversee and monitor bin levels Regulate material mix to achieve target pellet moisture and density ratios Communicate and adjust the ratio of fresh and old sawdust and wet and dry shavings Keep pellet moisture under specified limits per compacted cubic foot Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, spot fires, and hot bearings Maintain pellet mill feed rates Adjust or change pellet mill rolls and dies as needed Complete daily reports with temperature readings, dried material moisture, density checks, daily averages, total mill hours, natural gas hours, and estimated tonnage
