Job Description

Work Mon-Thurs!- 2ND SHIFT Machine Operators The 2nd shift employees will train on 1st shift and then move to 2nd shift once training is complete. Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor or Shift Lead, the Machine Operator will learn how to run machines, clean equipment, do general housekeeping and other manufacturing skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
( Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following) Set up and operate machines. Performs basic machine changeovers. Troubleshoots machine issues. Performs quality checks; ensuring product meets specifications/measurements. Communicate with Supervisor or Shift Lead regarding quality issues. Controls waste and looks for improvements. Maintain a clean work environment. Cross train and work in other areas as directed. Cycle count inventory as needed. Work in a manner to ensure safety of self and others.

Time management skills and able to work with a sense of urgency. Excellent problem solving skills with ability to gather and analyze data. Strong decision making and analytical abilities. Ability to multi-task, manage various priorities, and concentrate while doing repetitive tasks. Exceptional communication skills and ability to listen actively. Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Able to embrace change and is flexible to the needs of the business and team. Work independently and as a team player. Self-directed with strong initiative. Ability to follow instructions. Contributes to a positive work environment. Ability to adhere to safety procedures. Reports potentially unsafe conditions. Uses equipment and materials properly.
Experience and Knowledge:
Experience working in manufacturing, specifically in the wood industry is helpful but not necessary. Must have basic math skills and able to read a tape measure. Ability to use tools and maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years or older. Strong work ethic and reliable. Willingness to learn and desire to achieve. Fulltime position, Monday through Thursday, 10-hour days. Overtime as needed. Regular attendance and punctuality is required. Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn. These include, earplugs, safety glasses and steel toe shoes. Physical Demands /

Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to reach above shoulders. Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear, and smell. Constantly lift and or move up to 10 lbs. Frequently lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Occasionally lift and or move more than 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasionally exposed to humid conditions, and vibration. Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
Compensation:
$17.00 hr- $18.00 hr plus $1.00/hr shift differential. (More experienced operators could be offered more depending on their experience and skills). Employees have the capability to making $20.00 hr after their successful 90-day probationary period and performance review. Employees are evaluated on job classification, attendance, quality of work, teamwork, judgement, attitude and safety.
