Job Summary Machine Operator As a Machine Operator , you will play a key role in the steps related to the manufacture of thermoset composite materials by operating manufacturing equipment that includes presses, forming, extrusion, pultrusion and/or shape machines. Duties also involve manual work and duties that require the use of various hand tools and secondary/accessory equipment. Key Responsibilities Machine Operator Manufacture molded glass polyester sheets. Select and install machine components, such as dies, spacers, shims and/or stops according to specifications. Trim/file and de-flash molded sheet edges and perform in process measuring and material inspections. Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal equipment performance. Clean dies and molds, using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads or air hoses. Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
Prior experience in a manufacturing industry with mixing, batching or compounding equipment is preferred. Work Environment Machine Operator This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The position may involve repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
