Job Description

Successful and growing company is looking to hire a self-motivated Metal Treating Machine Operator to be responsible for ensuring the safe & efficient operation of all equipment in their cell. The ideal candidate is organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and schedule work, set and monitoring furnaces, and inspect finished parts.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE METAL TREATING MACHINE OPERATOR
Learn start up, loading & shut down procedures for each piece of equipment in cell Follow furnace start up and shut down procedures Responsible for set up and monitoring of the temperature controllers and furnace thermos-couples Monitor retort temperatures and dew point Set and track proper gas flows for natural gas, endothermic gas, nitrogen gas, and ammonia gas Monitor oil temperatures for cooling and heating levels Agitation monitoring Proper loading & racking of parts to minimize distortion Understand tempering guidelines based on actual AQ hardness readings Responsible for overseeing the operations of the generator Determine proper hardness inspection location for AQ testing Understand Tagging & Transfer Procedure Safe & efficient operations of all production equipment Prioritize processing based on schedule Document and report any production or maintenance issues to shift supervisor Ensure plant organization & cleanliness
REQUIREMENTS OF THE METAL TREATING MACHINE OPERATOR
Prior factory work preferred Basic computer skills Basic math knowledge Proficient reading skills Able to lift 25 lbs. regularly Safety-focused mindset Excellent written & verbal communication skills Time management Attention to detail Organized Able to work collaboratively with others Willingness to learn and take direction LS123
