Role:
BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Operator I to join our client's site in Pleasanton, California. This role will support the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Working under close supervision, the Operator I may perform a combination of assembly, repair, and testing operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. The position performs routine assignments according to specified or standardized procedures, with work closely and continually reviewed.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform assembly, repair, and testing operations on pacemakers, ICDs, leads, and related medical device assemblies. Follow specified and standardized procedures when completing routine assignments. Ensure that job documentation for manufacturing cell operations and functions is accurate and current. Clearly communicate ideas, problems, and solutions to all levels of manufacturing management in written and verbal form. Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with internal and external customers, including during tours. Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate safety devices when performing operations. Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes and achieve quality and profitability metrics. Maintain accurate records to ensure traveler and quality documents are correct, all parts are traceable, and quality issues can be addressed. Participate with the Manufacturing Supervisor or Manager in establishing and monitoring individual goals and manufacturing cell performance metrics. Support divisional initiatives identified by management. Support Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements. Prioritize work by determining the sequence and timing of different assignments based on precedence and importance.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures. Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions. Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing. Ability to use electronic data-collection systems and computer software packages. Ability to prioritize and sequence work based on importance and precedence. Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts. Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal form. Ability and willingness to follow all safety, production-area, dress, and gowning requirements.
Production-Area Dress and Gowning Requirements:
Wear clean, non-shedding clothing without loose fibers, frayed edges, contamination, or detachable decorations. Sweaters, fleece, loose-knit garments, and offensive clothing or accessories are prohibited. All clothing above the waist must fit completely beneath the lab coat or gown. High necklines and sleeves cannot extend beyond it. Hats, caps, scarves, and bandanas cannot be worn beneath the bouffant. Customary head coverings must be clean, tightly woven, properly laundered, and fully covered by the bouffant and gown. Avoid loose-fitting clothing near machinery or soldering and brazing torches. Keep the torso, upper arms, and legs covered. Sleeveless or midriff-baring tops, above-ankle pants or skirts, and skirts with slits are prohibited. Ankle-length skirts require full-length stockings, leggings, or pants underneath. Wear socks or stockings and closed-toe, closed-heel shoes at all times. Heels cannot be pointed or exceed two inches. Shoes may only be changed in a gowning room. Nail polish, artificial nails, makeup, and uncovered jewelry or piercings that could damage gloves are prohibited. Scented personal products are prohibited except deodorant. Stick lip balm may only be applied outside production areas before handwashing, and lotion cannot be applied after handwashing.
