This role is essential to maintaining efficient clinic operations and ensuring patients receive high-quality treatment during every visit. The Orthopedic Technician will assist physicians with clinical procedures, perform casting and splinting, remove sutures and staples, coordinate durable medical equipment (DME), and help manage clinical supplies and inventory. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and thrives in a fast-paced orthopedic environment. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Support Apply and remove casts, splints, and braces per physician instruction Perform suture and staple removal Assist physicians with minor in-office procedures Prepare patients for examination and treatment Provide patient education on cast care, brace usage, and post-procedure instructions Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Fit and dispense orthopedic braces, boots, and other DME products Ensure proper documentation for billing and insurance compliance Coordinate DME needs with providers and clinical staff Clinic Flow & Patient Support Assist providers and medical assistants to ensure efficient patient flow Prepare exam rooms and maintain clean, organized clinical spaces Support clinical team with patient positioning and procedure preparation Inventory & Supply Management Maintain DME and clinical supply inventory Track usage and reorder supplies to prevent shortages Coordinate with vendors and office administration for supply ordering Ensure exam rooms and casting areas remain properly stocked Qualifications Orthopedic Technician Certification required Experience with: Casting and splinting Brace fitting Suture and staple removal Orthopedic clinical workflows EMR Systems--eClinicalWorks is a plus Strong understanding of infection control and sterile technique Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment Skills & Competencies Orthopedic casting techniques Splinting and brace fitting Patient communication and education Inventory and supply management Team collaboration Attention to detail
