Volt is immediately hiring for an Assembly Operator I in Fairview, North Carolina 28730-1409 As an Assembly Operator I , you will: Key Responsibilities Polish and test fiber optic cables Assemble and package fiber optic connector components Terminate single and multi-fiber cables Operate fiber router & complete over-molding process (as needed) Support prototype product builds, test product builds, pre-release NPI builds (as needed) Measure components using calipers, gages, or other measuring devices Complete necessary operational paperwork required to maintain the traceability of product May troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment Understand cleaning methods and contamination assessment for optical assembly Perform

EFG & IPC

(workmanship) checks on both single & multi-fiber termini Mechanical Aptitude to safely & efficiently operate equipment (E-Stop/Soft Stop) and identify issues Assist in the estimation process step durations Suggest process changes to improve overall manufacturing efficiencies Communicate within a team atmosphere to ensure clarity of purpose & Customer satisfaction Inspect own work and products using quality standards, work instructions and prints This is Full-Time, Contract Opportunity. Qualifications High School diploma or GED preferred Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience required with knowledge and understanding of manufacturing principles such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity. Minimum 1 year experience in a fiber optic manufacturing environment preferred SAP Manufacturing & ISO 9001 experience is preferred. Proficient Hand-Eye Dexterity & Motor Skills for intricate/delicate work Working knowledge of hand tools and blueprint reading preferred Must be able to work with small parts in a clean room environment, using a microscope Available to work overtime to support production goals as needed. Attention to Detail (following bill of material, job routers, and understanding drawings/prints)
