JOB SUMMARY
Set up and operate various threadroll machines for manufacturing precision aircraft quality fasteners.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:
Other duties may be assigned. Reads and interprets documents (blue prints, drawings, or manufacturing work orders), to plan set up and operation of various threadroll machines, producing parts to precision tolerance and company specifications. Sets up and operates, on a production basis, various threadroll machines. This includes settings and adjustments required to produce parts to specifications. Selects, mounts and aligns tooling attachments and materials in proper order and relationship. Starts and stops, feeds the machines, and monitors for imperfect operation. Utilizes a full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before start, during, and at completion of production run. Reworks and directs reworking of tools as needed. Performs, when required, Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks per specification and acts in accordance with data output. Meets and maintains productivity levels and quality requirements in support of departmental standards, goals and schedules. Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations. The pay scale for this position ranges from $20.14-$26.00 an hour
Qualifications Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to read and understand blueprints. Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). A minimum of 4 years experience in threadrolling aircraft quality fasteners on various types of threadroll machines; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
