Job Description

For more than 50 years Schrey & Sons has been making quality molds for the wax investment & plastic injection industries for some of the largest and most prestigious aerospace companies in the world. With one of the largest tool shops on the west coast we have the knowledge, experience, and power to handle any job. We are professional, agile and fast-paced. Schrey & Sons is housed in a modern 60,000-square-foot plant customized specifically for mold making and wax pattern injection. The ideal candidate understands how investment castings are made, including the relationship between wax patterns, tooling, shell, casting, X-ray, dimensional inspection, and final acceptance . This person should be hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working with production, engineering, and quality leadership to reduce defects, improve inspection flow, and maintain compliance with customer and aerospace requirements.
Duties and Requirements:
Conduct quality inspections on products to ensure they meet company standards. Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures and processes. Perform measurements using calipers and other precision tools including CMM. X-ray / radiographic inspection UT / ultrasonic testing Visual inspection Oversee and maintain quality systems within the organization. Execute quality control tests on products and report any issues. Manage and improve quality management processes. Conduct internal quality audits to identify areas for improvement. Assist with corrective actions, preventive actions and audit findings. Proven experience in fabricating or manufacturing environments Proficiency in quality inspection techniques and procedures Strong understanding of quality systems and processes Knowledge of quality control methods and practices Assist with maintaining compliance to AS9100 and
ISO 9001
requirements. Support internal audits, customer audits, and registrar audits. Help maintain quality records, certifications, inspection reports, calibration records, and job documentation. Review and organize documentation Help improve procedures, work instructions, checklists, inspection plans, and quality forms. Support calibration system organization and follow-up
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in investment casting, aerospace manufacturing, foundry, machining, or precision manufacturing. Due to the nature of our aerospace and defense work, applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tolerances, specifications, and inspection requirements. Experience with dimensional inspection tools and final inspection documentation. Familiarity with
AS9100, ISO
9001, or aerospace quality systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings clearly. Ability to communicate quality issues with production, engineering, and management. Basic computer skills, including Excel, Word, PDF documentation, and inspection record systems. Must be fluent in both English and Spanish, including verbal and written communication in a manufacturing environment
