This role is responsible for maintaining the condition, organization, readiness, and performance of all molds and fixtures used in our injection molding operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently. This position plays a critical role in keeping production running efficiently by ensuring molds are properly maintained, repaired, documented, and ready for scheduled runs. Key Responsibilities Follow and execute the preventative maintenance schedule for all molds Perform minor mold and fixture repairs and improvements Stage molds and fixtures for production and sampling runs Document all mold and fixture repairs and maintenance activities Review and act on "Request for Tool Repair" forms Manage mold tagging and identification process Assign and maintain organized mold storage locations Communicate mold and fixture status to the production scheduler Maintain accurate records of mold condition, location, and usage Support general toolroom and shop organization Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
Ability to work independently Strong organizational and documentation skills Good computer skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Excellent manual dexterity Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently Ability to frequently handle and move up to 100 lbs Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Preferred:
Toolroom or machine shop experience Forklift experience or certification Bilingual Physical Requirements Frequent use of hands for handling tools and components Frequent reaching, lifting, and moving molds and fixtures Occasional standing, walking, sitting, and bending Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs Visual abilities including close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment Work Environment Manufacturing and toolroom environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts and heat Moderate noise level Why This Role Matters Your work directly impacts production uptime, mold longevity, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
