Molding Machine Operator

Westaff Hiring Molding Machine Operator for Rubber Manufacturer in Portland, CT! In this role, candidates are responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining molding equipment to produce precision-molded components.

Hours:

2nd shift, 2pm-10:30pm

Mon-Fri Payrate:

$19-20/hr (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate molding machines (e.g., compression, transfer, or injection molding) in accordance with production specifications Load compounds or preforms into molds, monitor the curing process, and safely remove finished parts Inspect parts for surface defects, flash, or dimensional accuracy using measuring tools and visual checks Trim excess material (de-flashing) and perform secondary operations as needed Collaborate with quality control and maintenance teams to resolve issues and improve processes

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required 1+ year of experience in rubber molding or a similar manufacturing environment preferred Familiarity with compression, transfer, or injection rubber molding processes Comfortable working in a hot, industrial environment with exposure to rubber odors and chemicals Ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift

Work Environment:
