Job Description

Overview The Mold Set Technician is responsible for supporting production operations through machine changeovers, equipment start-up and shutdown, and ongoing production monitoring. This role assists with mold maintenance, tooling organization, and basic processing support while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is a dependable team player with strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to continuous improvement. Duties Demonstrate safe work practices and comply with all company safety and quality policies and procedures. Organize, label, and document mold locations and repair status. Generate work order requests for tooling and equipment maintenance. Perform routine preventative maintenance on molds and tooling. Complete basic mechanical tasks including drilling, tapping, and thread cleaning. Perform entry-level maintenance and repairs such as replacing water lines, cleaning screens, sandblasting molds, acid flushing water lines, and flow testing water circuits. Calibrate blenders, make program and batch setting adjustments, and set proximity sensors. Enter and maintain process parameters on molding presses. Assist with mold sampling and engineering change orders (ECOs). Support continuous improvement efforts related to mold change procedures. Operate equipment including mobile die carts and forklifts. Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to ensure timely completion of tasks. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with maintenance and production teams. Education & Experience High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Basic computer skills required. Previous mechanical or related hands-on experience required. Experience in plastics manufacturing or mold setting. Physical Requirements Ability to reach, stretch, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical movements throughout the workday. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing 50 pounds or more. Commitment to workplace safety and ability to follow safe work practices while handling heavy molds and equipment. Basic understanding of molding processes and entry-level processing knowledge preferred. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and complete basic repairs. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Pay:
$26.00 - $30.00 per hour
