Job Description

Compound Mixer Operator | Evansville, IN | Starting Pay $21.10 per hour Join Silgan Closures, America's largest metal food packaging producer, as a Compound Mixer Operator in Evansville, IN. We're looking for motivated individuals who can operate and monitor compound mixing equipment to blend materials to precise specifications, ensuring consistent quality, safety, and efficiency during production.

Teledoc services, health programs for diabetes, hypertension, virtual physical therapy, and more 401(k) with Company Contribution AND a pension plan Paid Time Off & Holidays Training & Tuition Reimbursement Allowances for Safety Shoes and Prescription Safety Glasses What You'll Do Drive and operate lift truck (maintain valid driver's license and pass required lift truck operator testing) Mix ingredients required to produce batches of plastisol in totes or drums. Operate computer controlled power driven mixers and powder conveying equipment Read and follow recipes for plastisol batch production Using computerized quality control testing equipment to perform all quality control lab tests Interpret production schedules and, using lift truck, set up line with materials, drums, totes, and equipment necessary for plastisol production Remove filled drums and totes of plastisol. Remove packaging waste from incoming material Operate paper compactor Unload tanker trucks: Receive, verify and test incoming materials and operate control panel. Connect hoses from tanker to receiving valves and start pumps to unload tanker. Observe unloading process. Paint equipment, operate floor scrubbers and clean as necessary or as directed by supervisor Cycle inventories Perform daily maintenance inspection of lift truck Keep assigned work area neat and clean Relieve as required Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor Handle hazardous waste according to proper procedures as outlined in the Hazardous Waste Management Bulletins including identification, collection, segregation, handling and storage of waste. What We Need High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required Must have and maintain a valid driver's license Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and twist/bend for extended periods Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, perform overhead work, push and pull barrels, and use vibratory tools Must be able to obtain and maintain fork truck certification This position requires the use of a respirator About Silgan Closures We are the largest metal food packaging producer in North America, committed to sustainability and innovation.
