Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Moulder Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating molding machinery to produce precise components from various materials, including composite materials and wood-based products. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately. The Moulder Operator plays a vital role in ensuring that products meet quality standards while adhering to safety protocols and production schedules. Responsibilities Operate molding machinery safely and efficiently to produce high-quality components according to blueprint specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to set up equipment accurately. Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers for assembly and quality control. Handle materials carefully, including composite materials and wood products, ensuring proper storage and movement using forklifts or manual handling techniques. Perform dimensional measurements and quality checks throughout production to ensure compliance with specifications. Follow safety protocols rigorously to maintain a safe working environment; report any hazards or incidents immediately. Maintain equipment by conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing basic machining or adjustments as needed. Assist in assembly processes involving woodworking or millwork components, following detailed instructions. Interpret technical drawings for machining or assembly tasks; ensure finished products meet measurement standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements related to tooling, measurement accuracy, or workflow efficiency. Experience Prior experience operating molding or machining equipment within a manufacturing setting is preferred. Mechanical knowledge of shop math, blueprint interpretation, and materials handling is essential. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and measurement devices such as tape measures is required. Familiarity with woodworking, millwork, composite materials, and materials handling procedures will be advantageous. Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and follow blueprint specifications consistently. Knowledge of safety protocols related to manufacturing environments is mandatory. Previous experience working with forklifts or other material handling equipment is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary. Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented setting.
