Feed Mill Operator

Basic Function:

The feed mill operator will be responsible for performing tasks associated with feed production including unloading ingredients, manufacturing and loading feed, housekeeping and preventative maintenance in a safe manner for optimum production. This individual will also be responsible for performing tasks and record keeping associated with feed production. This would include scaling of ingredients, finished feed and housekeeping.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

. Operate all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently. . Produce feeds efficiently and in a manner that assures accuracy and high quality . Unload ingredients of high quality, as efficiently and proficiently as possible. . Set up distributors to unload ingredients and finish feed is going into proper bins. . Check in coming ingredients for color, smell, particle size and any foreign material . Verify unloading area is swept up and cleaned after unloading of ingredient. . Feed samples taken for every load of feed leaving the mill . Must be able to use and understand load board to manufacture feed efficiently. . Keep hand adds and medication weighed and ready for next batch of feed to be produced. . Verify medication records are being filled out correctly. . Verify when medication is being stored that lot codes are separated for tracking. . Check calibration of scale used for medication daily . Clean all magnets daily . Responsible for keeping mill, grounds and control room clean and orderly. . Report any feed leaks or performance issues with equipment to the maintenance or operation manager. . Scale incoming ingredients and probe corn trucks . Scaling feed delivery trucks to capture tare, gross and net weight for every load of feed . Entering feed orders . Will assist in any other areas of the mill as requested by management. . Will perform any other duties assigned by management Qualifications and Requirements . Must be able to follow directions and be flexible . Be able to work well with others . Good communication, verbal, written and math skills. . Dependable and must work well with others . Basic computer knowledge. . Ability to lift 50lbs. . Ladders and heights will be required. . Trouble shooting on equipment. . Basic maintenance skills. . Multi-tasking Competencies .
