Injection Molding /LSR Process TechnicianLocation:

$35- 42 an hourPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Injection Molding / LSR Process Technician to support production of high-quality molded components using liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and thermoplastic materials.
Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and monitor injection molding and LSR molding machines and auxiliary equipment to meet production targets and quality specifications.
Perform machine changeovers, mold installs, and machine set ups for both thermoplastic and LSR processes, including overmolding operations.
Optimize molding parameters (temperature, pressure, shot size, cure time, cycle time) to improve part quality, yield, and cycle efficiency.
Troubleshoot machine and process issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Work with engineering and quality teams to support process validations, first article inspections, and qualification activities per ISO 13485 and FDA requirements.
Document process settings, material lot traceability, inspection records, and any deviations using established procedures and electronic systems.
Handle a variety of materials, including silicone, rubber, PEEK, ABS, polycarbonate and other plastics, ensuring proper material handling, drying, and storage.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks on molding machines and auxiliaries and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams.
Support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, lean manufacturing, DOE) to reduce scrap, lower cycle times, and improve process stability.
Train and mentor operators on safe machine operation, setup procedures, and quality expectations.
QualificationsTechnical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent experience in plastics technology, manufacturing, or a related field.3+ years of hands-on experience as a molding process technician or similar role, with direct experience in injection molding and LSR processing preferred.
Working knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA regulatory requirements for medical device manufacturing or comparable regulated environments.
Experience with machine setups, mold changes, overmolding, and running materials such as silicone, rubber, PEEK, ABS, and polycarbonate.
Proven ability to optimize molding parameters, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve process capability.
Familiarity with auxiliary equipment (hot runners, chillers, dryers, conveyors) and basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills.
Strong documentation skills and experience maintaining batch records, process logs, and validation documentation.
Competence with SPC, basic statistical analysis, and continuous improvement tools (DOE, 5S, Kaizen) a plus.
Good communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred:
experience with medical-grade materials, knowledge of molding plastics PEEK and silicone formulations, and previous exposure to regulated CAD/CAM or MES systems.Benefits
