Job Description

Overnight Nurse Manager Pay Range:
 $95,000-$105,000 annually
Full-Time:
 36 hours/week 
Shift:
 6:00 PM - 6:00
AM Typical Schedule Rotation Includes:
 Week 1: Sunday, Thursday, Friday Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday Additional overnight, weekend, and holiday coverage may be required based on operational needs. As an Overnight Nurse Manager, you will provide leadership, clinical oversight, and operational support during overnight hours while fostering a therapeutic and recovery-focused environment for patients and staff alike. This position is designed to ensure overnight leadership coverage across the nursing department through a coordinated 12-hour rotating schedule. What You'll Do As an Overnight Nurse Manager at RCA, you will: Provide direct supervision, mentorship, coaching, and evaluation of overnight nursing staff. Ensure high-quality clinical outcomes through chart audits, electronic monitoring, patient oversight, and timely review of incidents occurring during overnight operations. Support nursing staff through formal training, remedial education, competency validation, and one-on-one coaching related to clinical practice, operational workflows, and technology systems. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and site leadership to identify ongoing overnight training and workflow improvement needs. Monitor patient care activities and ensure compliance with RCA policies, state regulations, accrediting standards, infection control practices, and evidence-based nursing care. Conduct purposeful rounding throughout assigned units during overnight shifts to support patient safety and staff engagement. Provide leadership support during emergencies, behavioral escalations, admissions, discharges, and other overnight operational needs. Partner with medical providers, clinical teams, and leadership to support individualized, person-centered, recovery-oriented treatment planning. Assist with scheduling coordination, staffing oversight, payroll review, and overnight staffing coverage needs. Support onboarding and orientation of newly hired nursing staff working overnight shifts. Maintain competency in medication administration, suicide risk assessment, aggression screening, and CLIA-waived testing. Participate in implementation and support of nursing initiatives, quality assurance efforts, and performance improvement activities. Job Requirements Current active RN/LPN license in the state of Massachusetts Minimum of two years of nursing experience required; behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment experience preferred. Previous leadership, supervisory, charge nurse, or nurse management experience preferred. Current CPR or BLS certification preferred (or must obtain during orientation). Knowledge of detoxification processes, addiction treatment, co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care, CIWA/COWS assessments, and behavioral health best practices preferred. Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications preferred. Ability to effectively lead teams, provide coaching and corrective action, and maintain professionalism in high-acuity situations. Strong communication, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently during overnight hours while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Availability to work a rotating overnight 12-hour schedule, including weekends and holidays as assigned. Ability to safely administer medications and perform at least two consecutive minutes of quality CPR. Why Choose RCA?
