MOLD MAKER

Dynamic Plastics Inc. is looking for a highly skilled Mold Maker to join our team in the creation of precision molds. The mold maker will be responsible for making repairs or adjustments to existing molds, using precision tools and CAD data to create new molds.

Responsibilities include:

Assembles, repairs, inspects, cleans and polishes molds using skill and care while handling and polishing critical surfaces. Completes Engineering changes and revisions to molds. Manufactures new or repairs existing mold components as required. Interprets drawings and evaluates machining methods on assignments requiring instructions from Tool room supervisor only on intricate machining setups. Perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions. may recommend revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on "machine ability" or fabrication problems encountered. Assist in solving problems relating to unusual material, work-holding arrangements, machine setting, fabrication methods, and production process.

Skills for mold maker:

Desired skills for mold maker include: 10-20 year experience Tool design and understanding of fit and function of mold components. Inspection equipment and techniques Plastic injection molds and mold making practices Trigonometry which includes roll dimensions and compound angles Equipment and practices associated with fixture Hand tools and equipment Mold building Precision inspection practices Prototype Knowledge of Solid Works, Mastercam, and Cam Tool Experience with Makino, YCM, and Haas machines
