Full Job Description Title:
Mold Designer Job Description The Mold Designer is responsible for designing the mold starting with the customer provided cad. They are required to make certain that the mold is designed to meet the customers' expectations, along with aligning to RPS standards for manufacturability. Feasibility is completed during the mold design phase and communicated by the Mold Designer to the extended team. Designers are responsible for the BOM construction and release to team for manufacturing. Along with mold designs, our team can work on nesting, assembly aides, fixturing, weld support items, and other manufacturing aides. Injection, Compression, RIM, Two Shot, Blow and DCPD Molds are all designed here at RPS. This position is obligated to follow theISO 9001
2015 standard to ensure compliance within their scope of work and as an executive level position, partake in management review contributions. Job Duties Design all variants of molds that RPS constructs. Supports the program team and customer with feasibility. Manages the design phase and timing requirements. Save models to RPS saving convention. Design for manufacturability. Support innovation and new techniques to save money through the design phase. Supports Mold Flow as needed. Supports cad changes as needed. Manages engineering changes and WOF as required. Supports 2D detail drawings for components requiring manufacturing. Qualifications- 2 + years' experience in mold design and engineering
- Catia, UG, or Cimatron Experience

- Ability to create and meet company Objectives and Goals
- Manufacturing operations experience
- Excellent organizational and leaderships skills with attention to detail

- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience in reporting and using key production metrics
