SUMMARY The Die Setting Technician will be a member of the manufacturing team. Their primary responsibility will be pulling and setting molds via direction from the PT/SV leader or engineering team, to include setting up all items needed as support for successful production/sample of this mold. Expected to achieve departmental quality, delivery and efficiency goals while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with PT/SV leader to determine what molds need set and watered or pulled and staged for repair, PM or corrections or scanned to mat for storage. This includes setting up and tearing down all auxiliary equipment. Manage utilization of LOTO procedures, GMP standards and OSHA safety standards. Ensure upon setting mold that correct items are present at the press for that product run to include auxiliary equipment, materials, work instructions, processing sheets, gages, blue tote for food grade, barrels, and any other items needed for success of the production/sample run. Report daily shift updates on mold set/pulled for issues, concerns, corrections, repairs or any support needed to ensure the mold is processing quality product with no damage to the mold or the press. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to the mold setting/pulling. Ensured that line clearance has taken place properly for mold setting/pulling

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 3+ years of injection molding plastics processing experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to author routine reports and correspondence. Above average computer skills required including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.). Ability to communicate effectively.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving many concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid Driver's License. Must be able to obtain a forklift, ariel lift, and overhead crane license. Must be willing to obtain certifications as job warrants.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to manage or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee may be required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to thirty-five pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
