SLITTER OPERATOR
for 2nd Shift!SHIFT SCHEDULE
FULL TIME:
Monday- Friday; 2:30 pm
- 10:30 pm
PAY INFORMATION
$22.00/hour base pay, with monthly incentives up to $28.00/hour + $3.00 shift premiumDescription:
This position will be responsible for day-to-day slitting of aluminum and steel coils to various widths for our in-house roll-forming operation and material handling.Responsibilities:
- Selecting metal based on schedule
- Machine set-up according to schedule
- Machine operation
- Driving a fork truck
- Complete production paperwork
- Perform maintenance tasks on machine
- Perform other general tasks
Requirements:
- Metal slitting experience required (at least 2 years preferred)
- High mechanical aptitude
- Operate fork truck and other industrial equipment safely (willing to train)
- Ability to read & calculate measurements (strong mathematical skills)
- Ability to work on a 3-person team; or work individually at times
- Ability to self-pace to achieve daily objectives
- Strong communication and organization skills & attention to detail
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs
- Long periods of time standing
- Previous machine set-up experience in metals preferred
- Strong commitment to safety
- Assist with leading & achieving slitter objectives and goals
- Partner with 1st shift slitter team (sharing knowledge & information)
- Work with shift supervisor to address issues or provide coaching to staff if needed
- Have high standards towards company policies and safety standards
- Help lead best practices for the slitter machine
- Help drive measurable improvements in efficiency, productivity, and flow with slitter
