Job Description

Role Summary We are currently looking for a skilled professional to join our team as an Injection & Compression Mold Designer. The perfect fit for this role possesses extensive practical expertise in crafting tooling and molds for compression and injection molding, backed by a solid grasp of core engineering concepts and production workflows. Primary Duties Engineer and build injection and compression molds that align with specific product needs, engineering blueprints, and client requirements. Utilize CAD software to generate precise 2D manufacturing documentation, 3D assemblies, and detailed models. Design essential tooling elements such as ejector systems, inserts, lifters, slides, cavities, and cores to improve production efficiency. Analyze part designs to proactively spot and resolve potential challenges related to manufacturing, tooling, or moldability. Work alongside production staff, mold makers, machinists, and engineers to ensure all designs are functional and optimized for the shop floor. Required Background Demonstrated professional history in the design of compression and/or injection molds. Comprehensive knowledge regarding plastic and rubber molding techniques and fundamental design principles. Proficiency in creating 2D technical drawings and 3D CAD models. Ability to accurately interpret customer specifications, GD&T, and complex engineering drawings to ensure high-quality output. Familiarity with various manufacturing methods, tooling materials, and specific mold components.
