Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Stump Grinder Operator and become a vital part of our operations! In this energetic role, you'll operate specialized stump grinding equipment to efficiently remove tree stumps, ensuring safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces. Your expertise will help maintain healthy landscapes, support growth initiatives, and contribute to the overall beauty and safety of our clients' properties. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your growing experience in horticulture, tree care, and equipment operation while working outdoors in a fast-paced environment. Duties Operate stump grinding equipment safely and efficiently to remove tree stumps below ground level Assess job sites and determine access, safety risks, and equipment placement before starting work Grind stumps of various sizes and in different soil and landscape conditions Remove and haul away stump grindings and debris when required Rake, level, and clean up work areas after grinding to leave a finished appearance Backfill holes with black dirt/soil after stump removal Spread grass seed and prepare soil for lawn regrowth when included in the job Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of stump grinder and related equipment Transport equipment to and from job sites and secure it properly during transit Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use and hazard awareness around utilities and property features Communicate with customers on-site regarding job progress and expectations when needed Ensure high-quality finish work so the site is left clean, level, and visually restored Experience Prior experience operating stump grinders or similar landscaping machinery is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates. Growing experience in horticulture, tree care, or landscape maintenance is highly valued. Familiarity with GIS applications or mapping tools is a plus but not mandatory. Strong commitment to safety standards and willingness to learn new skills related to arboriculture and landscape management.
